Lancaster University has no intention of abandoning its collegiate system or of offering accommodation only at high rents, as was implied in a caption on page 3 last week.
The university was founded as a collegiate university, and the college system is one of its major strengths.
Much of our residential accommodation is ageing and needs to be replaced. We wish to provide for more students on campus. There is, and will continue to be, a range of rent levels on the site.
