Painful poses

February 13, 2004

A crippling affliction is spreading among the academic profession, to judge by photos in The Times Higher . It is the Fingers Fixed to Famous Faces (FFFF) phenomenon.

On January 30, it was Rita Levi-Montalcini and Gary Day. By February 6, the blessed Susan Greenfield was bravely facing the camera despite this appalling deformity. Who will be next?

Please give generously to help these posers. Solvents have proved useless, but good photographers have the solution in their hands.
