In his review of Massimo Pigliucci's Nonsense on Stilts (Books, 10 June), Lou Marinoff sees fit to launch gratuitous attacks on "hysterical feminists" and on Noam Chomsky. Marinoff writes of "the fatuous rhetoric of Chomsky, whose ravings are completely off the baloney scale".
Could the good professor tell us which feminists he deems hysterical, or does he mean that all feminists are innately hysterical? Could he also tell us where his heroine Ayn Rand sits on the baloney scale?
