I fear there has been some confusion in your advertising department.
An advertisement for the University of Poppleton has been mistakenly attributed to the Higher Education Academy (page 53, 20 August). No one other than Jennifer Doubleday, Head of Personal Development at Poppleton, could have written such a beautifully phrased (and capitalised) job description for a Senior Adviser "who will be principally engaged in Raising the Status of Teaching and Supporting and Championing Teaching areas of work". No wonder the applicant will need "excellent communication (including influencing, negotiating, brokerage and facilitation) and team-working skills".
Nothing less would be needed for a job at Poppleton.
