The case leading to your article "Inaction fuels research row" (April 29) has cast a dark shadow over Sheffield Medical School. I have watched a good colleague getting mauled by a set of institutional procedures that seem to have been directed, as Aubrey Blumsohn says, to frustrate those bringing complaints. The misconduct seems to me to be serious and the evidence overwhelming. It should have been addressed long since by Sheffield University in an honourable fashion.
