Should we have faith in Dawkins? 2

The article by Denis Alexander was well written and argued in a scientific way, raising issues that even a rudimentary PhD student would be aware of. This is in stark contrast to the television programme The Root of All Evil?, which seems only to have created a discussion and condemnation of the content and presentation by Richard Dawkins. Does this raise fundamental questions about whether Dawkins is doing anything of real value for the public understanding of science and even whether he deserves such a title? Has he not let the science community down with such a trivial programme? If this is all science is about, then why should anyone bother with it?
