You say that inner London weighting is now ?2,632 a year, rising to ?2,726 ("Union says ?7 rise will not halt exodus", July 23). On which fortunate souls is such bounty bestowed? Unless I am mistaken, London weighting for academics is ?2,134 a year, now rising to about Pounds 2,360, after some 11 years at the old level. At the current rate it will take us another 11 years to reach ?2,632, never mind the princely sum of ?2,726.
