Students set example

That Italy's universities may be the provenance of a discrimination warranting the first European Court of Justice fines for discrimination is regrettable. ("Lettori in court to claim fines", November 18).

Given all the European Union-funded initiatives to encourage study at universities abroad, one would have expected an exemplary record on integration at faculty level.
