Kristr¨²n Gunnarsd¨®ttir is certainly entitled to dismiss the theological bent of my book Humanity 2.0 (Books, 1 March), even if her preferred alternative remains mysterious. However, she is not entitled to characterise my position as anti-evolutionary. On the contrary, while I may be anti-Darwinian, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin is one of the book's heroes. Since Gunnarsd¨®ttir wishes to expand the discourse on humanity's future, she might start by not conflating Darwinism and evolution.
