Lecturers' union Natfhe rightly questions the duplication at the head of the merged London Metropolitan University (News in brief, THES , January 23). Will Roderick Floud, formerly of Guildhall University, retain his ?130,000 salary as president and, if not, will Brian Roper, formerly of North London University, be awarded that amount as vice-chancellor - bringing his salary to nearly ?300,000?
