I am pleased to hear that Laura Spence has decided to pursue further studies at a British university. I would, however, have been happier if you had made clear that the Commons Education Select Committee found that her complaint that her interviewers at Oxford were prejudiced against state-school applicants had no foundation in fact. With this in mind, is she really the best person to be advising aspiring undergraduates?
