If psychotherapists want respect for alternatives to randomised controlled trials, they must outline them clearly, not model their rhetoric on that of homeopaths (¡°Jury¡¯s out on trial by ideological ordeal¡±, Letters, 14 February): ¡°cowed and brutalised by the combination of accountancy and mathematics¡± translates to me as ¡°they won¡¯t let us spend money on therapies with no provable effect¡±. Funny that.
