Wheely good idea

Evidently Gary Day has much to learn about cycling (Columnist, December 9).

He should discard the drooping coat that gets entangled in his bicycle and invest in some cycling attire that is fit for purpose.

This might encourage him to cycle ever further. His work shoes and trousers could be carried in a backpack.

If, as Day suggests, learning is like a journey to work, he ought to reflect more deeply on his own commuting experiences.

A well-prepared and properly equipped cyclist would undoubtedly find the journey less stressful.

Day might also try handwashing his tights to create time for more incisive educational musings.
