We couldn't believe the omission of Leeds University from your rock 'n' pop roll of honour ("You might not believe it, but that gown is so rock'n'roll", September 8).
You've surely heard of the Gang of Four (Andy Gill, Hugo Burnham and Jon King) and The Mekons (Jon Langford and Tom Greenhalgh).
Maybe even Ultra (James Hearn), the Rollins Band (Chris Haskett) and Dire Straits (Mark Knopfler)?
We don't know of any other university that has a blue plaque celebrating the UK's most legendary rock venue (the Refectory), not to mention the most celebrated live rock album of all time ( The Who Live at Leeds , of course).
Perhaps London bias got the better of you, but we know we're top of the rock 'n' pops.
