Daniel?Akinbosede, doctoral tutor in chemistry at the University of Sussex, highlights the need for universities to consider?solutions to combat the?inequalities in higher education.?

He believes universities must do more to create positive change in areas of inequality, particularly when it comes to gender, class,?disabilities?and race.?

In his opinion, it is not likely that universities will sufficiently address these issues within the next five years?however, he believes that there is good work being done by some groups to eliminate these disparities.

He considers whether universities will continue to react when the?cultural pressure for change subsides, particularly when the questions at hand may challenge the status of universities.?
