Prospective higher education students can now access essential information on more than 32,000 courses in the United Kingdom through a multimedia CD-Rom.

StudyLink UK from Education MultiMedia Enterprises (EMME), was initiated by the Committee of Vice Chancellors and Principals with the Standing Conference of Principals, and colleges in Scotland. The authors claim it represents the most authoritative and up-to-date electronic source of information on higher education courses available.

The package, available in IBM-compatible PC and Mac formats, provides details on every undergraduate course listed in the official UCAS University and College Entrance Guide .

Students can quickly locate courses best suited to their needs. Shortlists of courses appropriate to their interests and qualifications can be created by entering information in one or more of the following categories: subject interest, preferred location, secondary school subjects studied, expected grades from A-level exams/Scottish highers, and type of award preferred (degree or diploma).

Information selected via the search facility - including course summary and institution address, telephone and Internet details - can be printed for later reference. The user can print a request for further information or a prospectus from colleges or universities.

The CD-Rom contains multimedia presentations from 62 universities and colleges that enable prospective students to view the campus and accommodation, find out the views of students and learn details from lecturers and staff.
