A colloquium, "Max Weber - Culture - Politics", has been organised jointly by the German Historical Institute, University of London and London Guildhall University to take place on May 1 and 2. ORDINARY LIFE
The work of two South American artists, Arturo Duclos and Jorge Macchi, from Chile and Argentina respectively, will be exhibited in the John Hansard Gallery until May 13, 1995. Both artists have lived through turbulent and distressing times in their own countries, which has had a profound effect on their work. The gallery is open Tuesdays-Saturday, 10.30am-5.30pm. WHAT IS EDUCATION FOR?
On April 22 and 23, at the University of Bradford, a conference hosted by students will consider questions on the crisis in higher education. Speakers include: David Beetham, Alan Carling, Michael Cohen and Colwyn Williamson, Roger Fellows, Paul Rogers, Colin Webster and Mike Peters, Tom Steele. The organisers are looking for people from non-mainstream backgrounds or outside traditional academia who can give different perspectives and critiques.
