Lecturers at West Kent College are being balloted on an all-out indefinite strike over proposals to cut 72 teaching jobs, writes Ben Osborne.
Lecturers have been sent "at risk" notices specifying the number of jobs to be cut in their department. The engineering and construction departments are threatened with closure. The college says the cuts are necessary because of Pounds 513,000 debts it inherited from Kent County Council and Pounds 250,000 back payments on pensions.
