Ship shapes: James Johnson of the Natural History Museum

(Photograph) - Ship shapes: James Johnson of the Natural History Museum makes a three-dimensional laser scan of a Cymatium pileare seashell collected during the voyage of Captain James Cook's Endeavour. The shell will be part of a virtual reality exhibition about Cook's voyage, opening in March 1997. The University of Paderborn in Germany and computer maker Parsytec are developing the multimedia server which will host the exhibition.
