I am so pleased that Michael Gove clarified that when he denounced ¡°experts¡±, he meant only economists (¡°Facing iceberg alley¡±, Leader, 12 January).
He certainly approved of experts in 2011, when, as secretary of state for education, he published a Green Paper on Support and Aspiration: A New Approach to Special Educational Needs and Disability, in which he promised to give more power to professionals in the area. He wanted to ¡°strip away unnecessary bureaucracy so that professionals can innovate and use their judgement¡±. This gave such a boost to the confidence of all the professionals who deal with children with special needs and disabilities.
