One advantage of having a partner who is an academic (¡°Married to the(ir) job: living with an academic¡±, Features, 20 October) is that one can moan about the NSS, TEF, REF, QAA, Hefce, KIS, CSTs and MSTs without wasting time explaining the abbreviations and acronyms.
