I read with interest about the inexpensive technique allowing lecturers to record personalised video feedback while marking, but I am not convinced that it would reduce marking time as proposed (¡°Essay feedback in reel time¡±, News, 17 January). Nigel Jones, Cardiff Metropolitan University¡¯s senior lecturer in information systems, has not taken into account the time required to edit out those rude epithets and/or bouts of laughter uttered by frustrated lecturers that are unavoidable components of the marking experience.
