The dilemmas facing the film censors over what certificate to give films such as Natural Born Killers and Reservoir Dogs seem to have reached science education.

The Royal Society of Edinburgh is organising a series of events for young people during the science week SET95, but it stipulates that the audience for a lecture by Orkney Science Festival director Howie Firth should be "15-plus and adult", not surprisingly, since one of Dr Firth's topics is "Why Swedish women should be avoided on winter mornings".
