Readers should not be misled by Harvey Kaye's superficial misconstrual of Newt Gingrich's remarkable book To Renew America (THES, July 28). Nor should they follow him in underestimating the persisting relevance and power of the New Right's social analysis despite Clinton's election.

Here too we still need smaller government, lower taxes, less welfare, more enterprise, stronger families, and greater faith in our established national values.
