The Private Member's Bill to merge St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College with the Royal London Hospital and Queen Mary and Westfield Colleges has successfully gone through the House of Commons by 213 votes to 56, and is expected to become law in the autumn. Some Labour MPs who oppose the closure of Bart's attempted to block the bill.
