(Photograph) - A Pounds 12,000 grant from the European Commission has enabled Oxford University to renovate the painted ceiling of the Sheldonian Theatre. The work became necessary after rainwater leaked through and damaged one of the ceiling panels. In the process a 17th-century shoe was found and a "time capsule" dating from 1901 which was left by a previous restorer.
