Greenfield also had a handy hint, based on United States biorhythm research, on dealing with dental pain: go for a lunchtime appointment. This is the point at which people subjected to cold and electric shock to the teeth can take the most before the pain becomes intolerable. But, do not go in the small hours of the morning, when the pain and the bill are at their most unpleasant.
