English studies still popular

* English is alive and kicking in higher education, according to a report by the English Subject Centre, part of the Learning and Teaching Support Network. Author Sadie Williams found undergraduate applications to study English have grown, contrary to anecdotal evidence of a decline, and students see it as useful to study to get a job.
