Official launch of European technology platform "Food for Life"

Under the umbrella of the CIAA, the Confederation of Food and Drink Industries of the EU, representatives from universities, large companies, small businesses (SMEs), food research centers and key actors in the food chain have taken the initiative to establish the European Technology Platform "Food for Life". It will be officially launched on 05 July in Brussels.

Innovation, leading to new products and production processes, is an important determinant of productivity improvements and a key factor of the Lisbon Strategy. The Directorate-General for Research of the European Commission is promoting the concept of Technology Platforms as a new instrument for the launching of European technological initiatives.
