Glasgow Caledonian University has opened an energy and environment centre to provide applied research, training and consultancy on waste and environmental management for industry and Government. Hugh Smith, director of the Clyde River Purification Board, said the environmental regulatory system in Scotland was changing while public interest and concern for the environment was increasing.
