Patrick Parrinder complains (THES, letters, March 24) about my comments in an earlier letter on the harmonisation of copyright in Europe. Had the original sentence been reproduced in full, it would have been clear that what I was saying was the United Kingdom law was not being harmonised with European law in its entirety, but only to the extent of harmonising to a 70-year term. Therefore Professor Parrinder and I are in agreement.
