Under the patronage of the President of the European Commission, Romano Prodi, and the President of the Republic of Hungary, Ferenc Madl, the first world science forum will take place in Budapest, Hungary, from 8 to 10 November.

The forum, which coincides with the world science day on November 10, will gather together scientists, academics, politicians and the business community to discuss the new roles and challenges of science and knowledge in the global society of the 21st century.

Specifically, participants will be asked to consider the best methods for Europe, the United States and Asia to cooperate on research and development (R&D) issues.

The forum is being hosted by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
