At the time when the United Oxford and Cambridge University Club is defeating its pro-women lobby, another, less publicised Cambridge male bastion has fallen - but not to the delight of many feminists. Undergraduate Steph-anie Hirsch-Miller is the first woman to have been appointed to joint mastership of the beagling pack at Cambridge University. Writers in the Cambridge Evening News, however, criticised her as a dinosaur who had "set feminism back years". A sad case of dog eat dog?
