The proportion of women undergraduates entering Scottish higher education rose from 43 per cent in 1980/81 to 49 per cent in 1992/93. The latest Scottish Office bulletin says there was an 11.5 per cent increase in student numbers to 120,483 between 1991/92 and 1992/93.
