Nothing wrong with its mission statement, which includes the noble aim of "distinctive higher education of a national and international standard which meets the needs of the City of London . . ."
But, as provost Roderick Floud confessed at a recent conference: "There has been a debate about whether we should use the fact that Nick Leeson learned his banking skills at London Guildhall University as a marketing point or keep quiet about it."
