Antithesis has a handy hint for the National Lottery Charities Board, which has been criticised for its high running costs. The board could cut its public relations postal budget by three quarters by posting only one copy of each press release to any one individual.
The current four copies, each arriving on the same day in separate envelopes, do have a high impact, but the money saved by cutting down could be used elsewhere - perhaps the board could go in for a spot of reinvestment, buying half a lottery ticket on behalf of each mail-shot victim.
