The Scottish Office this week announced upgraded entry requirements for teacher education courses from the academic year 2000/01.
Entrants to primary teacher education courses will need a standard grade in mathematics at the highest credit level, while entrants to the postgraduate second course will need to have studied their specialist subject for three years rather than two.
