Mine's a Napier

Academics at some Scottish higher education institutions have taken to referring to a gin and tonic as "a Napier", a reference to the High Court case this spring, when Napier lecturer Paul Agutter was jailed for 12 years for attempting to murder his wife by spiking her gin and tonic with atropine, a deadly poison. Antithesis finds this jocularity completely tasteless, like the atropine.
