A medical campus has been opened in Malaysia by Newcastle University. Situated in the new Iskandar development close to Singapore, it will begin enrolling students in September 2009. It will provide Malaysians, Singaporeans and students from elsewhere in Asia with a full British tertiary educational experience and an undergraduate degree - but at significantly reduced costs. Fees will be about 48 per cent cheaper than the equivalent of study in the UK.
