A severe sporting blow last week to the stereotypes attached to the academic disciplines of peace and war studies. Most preconceptions would assume that any contest between the open-toed sandal bunch from Bradford University and the lads in spiked helmets from King's College, London would go the way of King's. Not so. In a "friendly" soccer match last week Peace Studies, Bradford squeezed out their rivals by the little matter of 15 goals to nil. If that's their idea of "friendly" one shudders to think what will happen if they ever take a dislike to somebody.
