Are there no limits to the compassion of the Natural Death Centre? Launched in 1991, it helps those who look after someone dying at home. And it organises "cheap, green and DIY funerals". Its concern with the death of bits of technology was less obvious until its director, Nicholas Albery, recently wrote an article in which he mentioned the centre's "poor desktop photocopier" which is "dying fast", presumably from burnout, after printing over 370,000 information leaflets. Let us hope the centre follows all those EU regulations governing what is a green funeral for machines on their way to that great junkyard in the sky.
