Scottish higher education institutions have won a Pounds 4 million incentive to work together more closely.
The Scottish Higher Education Funding Council aims to encourage collaboration through its Regional Strategic Initiatives Fund and is supporting more than 60 projects in institutions.
The projects include a Pounds 53,000 collaboration between Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh universities to develop a national facility which will use computer technology to allow facial reconstruction from skulls. This will be accessible to forensic medicine, archaeology and anthropology departments across the country.
