Those who claim the binary line has simply been redrawn between higher and further education will have their suspicions confirmed by the latest grants from the National Lottery.

Glasgow University, which is planning to build a 200-seat theatre as part of a Centre for the Study of Theatre, Film and Television, has won Pounds 900,000. Dundee College of Further Education, which is planning to build a 200-seat theatre as part of a Centre for Training and Performance In Theatre and Dance, has won Pounds 6,500.
