The university-industry postgraduate partnership training scheme is to be expanded by about 50 places, the Department of Trade and Industry announced this week.
The scheme, launched in 1992, features PhD student placements in industry. There are 150 students based at firms which include the British Textile Technology Group, the Water Research Centre and the instrumentation specialist Sira.
