Speaking to?Times Higher Education at the THE?Research Excellence Summit: Asia Pacific, Finkel said that teaching and research are now seen alongside other industries despite the unique value that universities bring to wider society.?
This perception leads to pressure placed unfairly on higher education to respond to quickly changing skills demands, he argued.?
