The Scottish Higher Education Funding Council recently hosted a celebratory lunch for all those departments which had achieved an excellent rating in its teaching quality assessments.
But there has apparently not been universal gratitude among the guests, despite their being presented with commemorative plaques. Strathclyde University's latest senate report reveals that one invitee has memorably described the event as "akin to a Brownies' prize-giving".
