Those doggone days waiting at the kennels for the owner to return from holiday could soon be over, thanks to scientists. They are raiding the anti-depressant cupboards at drug company Upjohn to find something for dogs - which they have discovered can suffer from depression when parted from their owners.

According to Chemistry &amp; Industry magazine, the company is experimenting with a benzodiazepine, while Eli Lilly is considering Prozac. Couldn't they avoid the nasty chemicals and send the dogs to Relate?
