Penny Green could not be more wrong in arguing that universities should be ¡°boycotting all government institutions in Myanmar¡±, including higher education providers, in the wake of the crackdown on Rohingya Muslims (¡°Universities pressured to cut Myanmar ties¡±, News, 2 November).
Isolating Myanmar academics and students will further entrench minds here: the government and the military will respond in kind, setting the country back to the bad old days. That is good for no one, except those whom Green hopes to ¡°punish¡±.
