Forever young

February 15, 2018

In the biographical sketch of Kori Schake, the author of Safe Passage: The Transition from British to American Hegemony ( ¡°When Britannia waived its rule¡± , Books, 8 February), Matthew Reisz writes that Schake ¡°was born in Sonoma, California, ¡®not far from where gold was discovered in 1848¡¯¡¯¡¯. I just wanted to say how remarkably well I think Schake looks in the photograph accompanying the article for someone who will turn 170 this year.
