In his HE & me interview? (News, 18?January), Richard Barbrook, senior lecturer in the department of politics and international relations at the University of Westminster and a?digital democracy and games strategist for the Labour Party, says that he is ¡°using the 1983 [Labour general election] manifesto to think through what it will be like to have a left-wing Labour government¡±.
This is a manifesto famously referred to by the late Gerald Kaufman MP?as ¡°the longest suicide note in history¡±. Its use does not necessarily inspire confidence in a bright socialist future for Britain.
